How to download and install mods in Hytale

With the release of Hytale, players gained access to a fantasy open-world voxel world. One of the game’s key features is support for mods, which can be created by players or installed from the community.

Hytale is a standalone app with its own launcher and full mod support via an external source —the CurseForge platform . There are two main ways to download and install mods.

Manual installation of mods

To install mods manually, follow these steps:

• Open your browser and go to the CurseForge Hytale Mods page .
• Select the mod you like and download it to a separate folder on your computer.
• Mods are usually delivered in ZIP or RAR archives . Unzip the files into the Hytale mods folder .
• To find this folder, launch Hytale, go to your created world, select “Mods”, right-click on the world and select “Edit World”.
• In the window that opens, find the “Mods” folder and copy the mod files there.

Installing mods via the CurseForge app

This method is simpler and automated:

• On the CurseForge website, find the orange icon in the upper right corner and download the CurseForge app (Standalone version recommended).
• Install the app and sign in to your account or continue as a guest.
• The application will automatically detect installed games on your PC.
• Select Hytale and go to the “Browse Mods” section.
• Click “Download” on the desired mod – the application will automatically install it into the game.

Hytale mods are incredibly diverse, ranging from gameplay-enhancing add-ons to automatic item repair, custom skins, items, and even creatures. For example, Buuz135’s “Advanced Item Info” mod adds an interface for searching items and viewing their detailed information, which is useful for both new and experienced players.

After installation, be sure to check your world settings to ensure that mods are active. All installed mods are automatically added to active worlds, so be careful.
