Spirit Veins are special points of interest in Nioh 3 that only become active after certain conditions are met. Players who encounter them in the open world will likely want to know what they are and how to use them.
This guide will cover everything about Spirit Veins in Nioh 3, including how to find and activate them.
In Nioh 3, Spirit Veins are hidden travel points that allow access to otherwise inaccessible locations with the help of specific Guardian Spirits . There are six types of Spirit Veins, each requiring a different Guardian Spirit.
In the world , Spirit Veins emit a yellow glow , making them easy to spot. On the map, they are marked with a hexagonal icon depicting the corresponding Guardian Spirit.
If you see a lock icon on the map , it means you don’t have the required Guardian Spirit yet. A check mark means you’ve already completed the vein and have the required Guardian Spirit in your inventory.
To use a Vein, approach its location in the world and stand within the circle of yellow light . If you have a suitable Guardian Spirit, a “Move” prompt will appear on the screen.
Press and hold E (keyboard/mouse), R1 (PS5), or RB (Xbox controller) to activate it. This will take you to a hidden area that may contain new points of interest, powerful enemies, or special items, such as Samurai/Ninja Castles. To return, find the circle of light again.
You don’t need to actively equip the Guardian Spirit to move it – just having it in your inventory is enough.
In Nioh 3, there are six Guardian Spirits associated with the Spirit Veins . All are unlocked through mandatory story missions.
