Luckily, Moses explains the basics of this feature to Max Caulfield (and to gamers) right at the start of the game. If you’re stuck on the very first time-rewind challenge, we’ll help you figure out who killed the Sword Master in Life is Strange: Reunion with a quick step-by-step guide.
To find out who killed the Sword Master and pass Moses’ first test, you need to do the following:
- Examine the poster on the wall above the art supplies in the back of the room.
- Climb the stairs and look at the statue of the student.
- Look at the base of the statue to find out its name.
- Return to Moses and tell him that the Sword Master was killed by Mina Hiramitsu.
The poster in question is located on the right side of the room (if you’re facing the stairs). It hangs above the shelves of art supplies, to the left of the samurai statue . This poster informs Max that the Sword Master was killed by a student (who bears a strong resemblance to Sailor Moon), but doesn’t reveal her name.
However, knowing what she looks like, you can climb the stairs in the center of the room and examine the statue of the same student. It stands by the railing overlooking the room, to the right of the sofa and teapot. Turn the statue to reveal the girl’s name on the base—this will reveal the killer’s identity.
After that, all that’s left to do is return to Moses and tell him that the killer’s name is Mina Hiramatsu. Just remember to rewind time before talking to him—otherwise, Moses simply won’t ask the same question, so Max won’t be able to answer.
After Moses’ first challenge, Max moves on to the second: retrieve an item locked in a cabinet. And yes, you’ll need to use the time rewind ability again—although this task is a bit more challenging. If you need help, we’ll explain everything in the next guide.
