Jack Pepper, the protagonist of the animated shooter Mouse: PI For Hire, is arguably one of the best detectives in all of Mouseburg. One of Jack’s greatest professional qualities is his ability to take high-quality photographs.

In the side mission “Between Alpha and Omega,” Jack Pepper is tasked with taking a photo proving the infidelity of the wife of some nasty rodent from the Big Mouse Party (BMP). Do you really need it? Probably not, but on the other hand, it’s important for the “Fearless Bloodhound” achievement. And the reward wouldn’t hurt either.
Either way, you’ll get paid for it, so let’s get to work !
How to start the quest “Between Alpha and Omega”
First, you must speak with Cornelius Stilton to receive the main quest “Catch the Mouser”, which is completed during the river cruise on the Fever Line.
After selecting this quest and teleporting to the steamship in the southern part of the game world map, you’ll find yourself in the ship’s engine room. Proceed through this area, climbing the ladders until you reach the main deck.
Here you’ll encounter a bouncer who will ask for a pass. Ignore him and head left. Climb the steps, head back, and soon find yourself blocked by a horde of pesky mice. From here, turn north, enter the corridor inside the ship, and open the door to cabin VI.
In this room, you’ll find a stack of suitcases leading to a small ventilation shaft. Climb into it and shine your flashlight to clear a path. You’ll find yourself in a large, luxurious salon. This is where you should look for a member of the Big Mice party who will offer this part-time job.
How to complete the quest “Between Alpha and Omega”
Talk to the rodent from the PBM, and he’ll ask you to take a photo of his unfaithful wife. Climb the main stairs leading to the typewriter and exit through the double doors. Immediately turn right and go down the stairs. Walk past the undercover agent or talk to him to begin another side quest, “Mouseburg, Top Secret.”
Continue further to find another staircase leading downwards. Climb it and head straight to the last porthole (a round window) on the right. A couple of rodents, a man and a woman, are standing outside the window. Interact with the window and take a photo of the unfaithful wife.
You will be given an item to complete the quest “Between Alpha and Omega.” Once you receive it, return to the rodent from the PBM the same way and speak to complete the optional quest.
Be sure to complete this task as soon as you start it and take a photo. If you continue with the main story mission, you’ll lose the opportunity to complete it.
Reward
Upon completing the “Between Alpha and Omega” quest, you’ll receive 50 coins as a reward. While this isn’t a huge amount, the task is completed fairly quickly, so there’s little reason to refuse. If you refuse the task, you’ll forfeit this reward and the opportunity to earn the “Fearless and Unreproachable Bloodhound” achievement.
Back in the main hub, the Detective’s Office , you can spend this money on missed collectibles or baseball cards worth 500 and 1000 coins that are impossible to obtain otherwise.
