Spin Rhythm XD is a game that’s both simple and challenging. After selecting one of the many tracks, you’ll see a grid of notes and beats moving in your direction. You hold a wheel divided into colored segments. You can gently spin it, set it in free spin, and brake it as you wish.

The goal of the game is to match the colors of the wheel segments with the colors of the notes and beats rushing toward you. Regular notes require simple “catch,” while beats require “tapping” by pressing the gamepad button . However, as you increase the game’s difficulty, new actions are added to these simple actions: some beats require holding down a button, sometimes the wheel must be quickly spun in opposite directions, and so on. Some challenges can be mind-boggling, especially when a fast track is playing in your headphones and the board elements are changing with kaleidoscopic speed.

That said, the game isn’t exactly hardcore . The developers have done a great job of making the gameplay easy to read: the colors contrast with each other , the action symbols are intuitive, and the only way to fail a run is through inattention.
