At the end of 2025, leading memory manufacturer TeamGroup announced the launch of a new series of CinemaPr SSDs, which includes external drives for professional photographers. The first model to arrive was the T-CREATE CinemaPr P31, which we’ll cover in this review.
The T-CREATE CinemaPr P31 comes in a small cardboard box, painted black and gray. The front panel features an image of the device, its name, a list of features, and the memory capacity of the specific unit. The back panel lists the technical specifications and provides information about the benefits in several languages.
The drive is secured inside the box using a cardboard mold, meaning the packaging is completely free of non-recyclable materials. Therefore, by choosing T-CREATE memory, you’re taking care of the environment.
Along with the drive, you’ll also find a 20 cm reversible USB-C cable, a small sticker with the brand logo, two ¼” quick-release screws, and one ¼” male adapter with a locking disc. These mounts are necessary for mounting the drive to cameras, camera cages, and iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max smartphones .
The T-CREATE CinemaPr P31 is a rectangular box with rounded corners and a carabiner hole at the top, making it ideal for carrying as a keychain. Our sample is black, but a titanium-colored version is also available. The drive measures 93 x 51 x 11.6 mm and weighs 97 grams.
The drive’s casing is made of aluminum, offering exceptional durability, making it suitable for use in extreme conditions. It features graphene cooling for improved heat dissipation, ensuring data transfer is always at maximum speed. Furthermore, the model is IP67 certified, ensuring resistance to dust and short-term exposure to water.
The front is adorned with the brand and series names, as well as their logos. The series logo features an image of nine squares forming a larger square, one of which is red instead of gold like the others. This is a reference to the red dot that flashes on cameras during video recording, which also emphasizes the drive’s affiliation with professional creators.
The opposite side contains technical information, including the storage capacity of the specific drive. It also features a rubberized cover with three ¼” holes inside. There are 12 of these holes on the case, and they are used for mounting the drive on professional photo and video cameras, camera cages, and iPhone 15 Pro / Pro Max smartphones.
The top edge, as well as the right and left edges, contain three more ¼” holes. A USB 3.2 Gen2 x1 Type-C connector for connecting a drive is located at the bottom.
T-CREATE CinemaPr P31 is compatible not only with PCs and laptops , but also with any other devices, such as photo and video cameras, smartphones, tablets , TVs, etc.
Models with 1 or 2 TB of storage connect via a USB 3.2 Gen2 x1 Type-C interface , preferably with the included cable, which guarantees maximum read and write speeds of 1000 MB/s and 950 MB/s, respectively. 4 TB models, on the other hand, use a Gen2 x2 Type-C interface, delivering speeds up to 2000 MB/s and 1800 MB/s.
The drive is ready for use immediately after connection , i.e. there is no need to format it, install a driver, or perform any other settings.
First, we launch the CrystalDiskInfo utility and see that, with the exception of a couple of factory resets for testing, the model is brand new. We also see its idle temperature, which is 33 degrees Celsius.
Next, we use CrystalDiskMark and see that the data transfer speed matches the rated speed. As a reminder, we have the 1 TB version, meaning read and write speeds are 1000 MB/s and 950 MB/s.
The next stage of testing is the AS SSD Benchmark utility, which simulates use in various scenarios and provides a final performance score.
Now we take measurements using the ATTO Disk Benchmark application, which can be used to evaluate the transfer speed of files of different sizes.
As an epilogue, let’s return to CrystalDiskInfo to see if the drive heated up during the tests. The temperature rose to 37 degrees Celsius, but remained within acceptable limits, so the graphene cooling used in the device can be considered effective.
The T-CREATE CinemaPr P31 is a great external SSD drive designed specifically for professional photographers and videographers.
As such, the model features a durable aluminum body with an attractive design, moisture and dust protection, and 12 mounting holes for flexible mounting on cameras, iPhones, and camera cages. At the same time, its compact size and weight ensure it won’t interfere with your shooting.
The new model also boasts impressive data transfer speeds, making it suitable for quickly transferring data, such as 4K or 8K videos. Furthermore, it features excellent cooling, meaning it stays cool and performs smoothly even under heavy load.
Compatibility with any device, a 5-year warranty, and the ability to choose the storage capacity you need—1, 2, or 4 TB— complement the above .
