Where to find Bloodleaf in Hytale

Bloodleaf is a key crafting ingredient required for several important recipes in Hytale . Primarily, it’s used to create health potions, so players looking to stock up on them will need plenty of Bloodleaf.

It’s also one of three plants that can be chopped down to obtain Blood Petals, which are needed to upgrade the Farmer’s Workbench to levels 9 and 10. Fortunately, Blood Leaves are quite common if you know where to look.

How to get Bloodleaf in Hytale

Bloodleaf can be found in the swamps of the Emerald Grove (Zone 1) , the snowy mountains of the Whispering Marches (Zone 3) , and on certain objects in the desert region of the Howling Sands (Zone 2) . These plants glow brightly red in the dark, making them easy to find at night.

Emerald Grove

To find Blood Leaves in the Emerald Grove, look for dull green patches of swampy terrain covered with an abundance of large , light green tree canopies . These swampy forests are composed almost entirely of oak trees, with the occasional ash tree. You’ll find numerous Blood Leaves growing at the base of these trees.

Some swamp forests in the Emerald Grove consist only of ash trees (their crowns are dark green). There are no blood leaves there.

Whispering Borders

In the Whispering Frontiers, Bloodleaf grows abundantly among the snow-covered fir forests in the mountainous regions . They are easiest to spot by climbing to a high point and surveying the forests from above.

In this zone, Blood Leaves are found only near the mountains. Fir forests can also grow on the plains, but these plants will not be found there.

Howling Sands

In the Howling Sands zone, Blood Leaves can sometimes be found growing on large fossilized skeletons scattered throughout the desert. These structures can be identified on the map by their symmetrical, bone-white shapes that stand out against the landscape.

Bloodleaf Fossils are rare, and in most cases, there will only be one or two plants in each location. For larger quantities, explore the Whispering Frontiers or the Emerald Grove.

How to unlock the Bloodleaf Seed recipe in Hytale

The Bloodleaf seed recipe can be obtained by chopping down a plant with a pickaxe, axe, or shears . Each time you chop down a plant, you’ll receive several Bloodleaf Petals and, in rare cases, the seed recipe.

Once you’ve acquired the recipe, equip it to your hotbar and use the action button to learn it. You’ll then be able to craft Bloodleaf Seeds at the Farmer’s Workbench (level 10). Upgrading the workbench to this level requires a large amount of Blood, Storm, and Azure Petals.
