Where to find Durable Chitin in Hytale: Locations and Enemies

Rugged Chitin is a relatively common material in Hytale , required to upgrade a Weaponsmith’s Workbench to level 3. However, it can only be dropped by certain creatures found in specific regions of the game world.

How to get Durable Chitin in Hytale

Durable Chitin can be obtained by killing the following creatures in the Howling Sands desert region (Zone 2) :

• Turtle
• Scorpion
• Battleship
• Defender of Skarak
• Scarak’s Fighter
• Scarak’s louse
• Seeker of Scarak
• Progenitor of Skarak

Where to find a turtle

Turtles can be found along the coast of the Howling Sands region (Zone 2) , where palm trees grow and sandy beaches are found. They often hide in their shells and appear as a green block from a distance. Turtles are non-aggressive, so you don’t have to worry about them attacking you while farming chitin.

Battleship

Armadillos appear almost everywhere in the Howling Sands region, but are most often found in areas with red sand , as well as on the tops of mountains and dunes. Their light brown scales blend in with the sand, making them difficult to spot in the open desert. Like turtles, these animals are not hostile.

Scorpion

Scorpions can be found in any desert biome , including beaches, dunes, ruins, and oases. They have dark brown scales, a white “skeletal” mask, and a blue glow on their pincers and stinger. They are highly aggressive and inflict poison damage. However, since they usually appear alone, they are relatively easy to deal with if prepared.

Scorpions also drop poison glands when killed.

Enemies of Scarak

Skarak monsters live in and around Skarak nests in the Howling Sands. These nests can be found in fossil sites, areas of dark red sand where large animal bones are found.

Scarak’s nests appear as tall, thick pillars of red mud emerging from the ground. What’s visible on the surface is just the tip of the iceberg. These nests extend deep underground, like mineshafts, and teem with all manner of Scarak monsters, ready for battle.
