Nioh 3 is dotted with numerous collectibles and points of interest, including Hot Springs . These have been present in the series since the first game, and their usefulness remains the same in the third game.
Interacting with the spring fully restores the hero’s health and grants a temporary buff that gradually restores small portions of health. This is extremely useful during lengthy explorations to the next altar. Below are all the springs in the game’s first region, the Warring States .
The spring is located at the very south of the region. From the Cavern Cape altar , head left to the cave entrance that leads to the enemy base. Clear it, and you’ll find the spring at the far end.
From the Maysak Post Altar , head west to the enemy base you need to clear in the “Abounding Evil” myth. In the far left corner of the base, find a house next to a staircase. Jump onto the roof tiles of the upper floor , go inside, and find the exit to the second source.
While exploring the Cursed Caverns , you’ll find the Cornerstone Pool altar . From here, jump forward and walk straight ahead, hugging the left wall. In the water, you’ll encounter a Crucible Wraith enemy , and beyond it will be a narrow passage you can crawl through to reach the spring.
The spring is located in the northwest of the region and is accessible during the mission “Fiery Invasion.” If you missed it, you can replay this Crucible mission using the Scroll of Battle .
The spring will unlock as the story progresses, as it’s located in Saigagake , the location of the region’s final mission. From the Rear Approach altar , turn left and head forward. Turn left again and you’ll see a gate leading to the boss, and a Nurikabe wall on the right. After removing it (either through battle or with the right gesture), enter to find the spring.
This spring is located in Horie Castle , which is explored in the “Disaster at Lake Hamama” myth. From the Main Citadel Altar , go left and turn right at the dead end. After killing the enemy, open the door on the left to reach the spring.
The spring is hidden in the Ryotan Temple , accessible in the “Lands of Fate” myth. From the Living Quarters altar , explore the area until you descend the stairs from the roof and open the shortcut door back to the altar. Next to this door is a Nurikabe wall . Pass through it to find the spring.
Reach the very north of the region and find a locked door on the left. Climb the stairs, and on the left you’ll find a path leading to a narrow passage. Go through it and drop down to the spring.
The spring is located in Futamata Castle , where the story mission leads. From the Defense Gate altar , return along the path and you’ll find an illusory wall to your left . Pass through it to find the spring.
