Wildlight’s multiplayer shooter Highguard uses a battle pass system, although the developers call it War Chest. The game’s first season offers players the chance to earn this pass for free.
The chest operates according to the standard system and features a page-based progression format similar to that used in Fortnite and other popular games. Each reward requires a certain amount of in-game currency, and the rewards themselves include the usual array of cosmetics: character and weapon skins, profile customization items, and more.
To activate the free Battle Pass, you need to go to the in-game store and claim a War Chest. The process is as follows:
Launch Highguard
Go to the main menu
Open tabs at the top of the screen
Select the Store section
Click on Inspect War Chest in the corner of the screen
Take the War Chest
The first chest contains 44 items of varying rarities, spread across four chapters. To earn rewards, players must participate in matches and earn Vigil Tokens—an in-game currency that can be exchanged for the chest’s contents.
Future seasons of Highguard are expected to use a similar system, unless the community objects to this monetization format.
