Since at the time of writing there is only one official version of Sons of the Forest , the path to the saves will be identical for both Steam and pirated versions:
- C:/Users/[Username]/AppData/LocalLow/Endnight/SonsOfTheForest/Saves/
But there are a couple of caveats. First, for some users, the AppData folder may be hidden by Windows security settings. To make it visible in the future , simply check the “Hidden items” box.
There is an even faster way to get to this folder if you use the key combination Win + R, enter %localappdata%low/Endnight/SonsOfTheForest/Saves% in the window that opens and click OK.
Next, you’ll see a folder with a long string of numbers, which could represent either your Steam account ID or someone else’s , depending on whether the game was purchased or downloaded. Inside, there may be two separate folders containing saves for single-player and co-op play.
For Linux and Steam Deck users , Sons of the Forest saves will always be located in this folder:
- ~/.steam/steam/userdata/[Your Steam ID]/1326470/
