Metroid Prime 4 Guardian Sanctuary Guide: How to Get Boss Notes

In the first Fury Green area of ​​Metroid Prime 4, there’s a room called the Guardian Sanctuary containing a Psi-Recording Device . If you get there before the dungeon’s boss fight, its purpose won’t be obvious.

This guide will explain what the Sanctuary of the Guardians is for and how to “solve” its puzzle.

Room assignment and boss logs

The Guardian Sanctuary isn’t a puzzle in the traditional sense . It’s a place where players can unlock Data Log entries for each of Metroid Prime 4’s main bosses if they didn’t have time to scan them during the fight.

After leaving the Sanctuary and heading south through the large door, you’ll enter the arena where you’ll face Karvex, the boss in the Garden of Remembrance. Defeating him will grant you the Psi Bomb ability for Morph Ball mode . Return to the Sanctuary of the Guardians—you’ll notice the changes.

Look at the second statue from the left: in Visor mode, you’ll see a Psi Node you can pick up . Place the node in the device in the center of the room, then move the glowing purple crystal to the correct slot (located at 10 o’clock in the upper left corner) .

This will create a hologram of Karvex (the boss you just defeated), which can be scanned to add an entry about him to your Data Log . If you’ve already scanned the boss during the fight, this step is not required.

It looks like holograms of all five of the game’s main bosses will appear in this room after they’re defeated, so you can always come back here later to fill out your journal.
