In this review, we’ll explore the OKLIK 980GMW gaming mouse, which features three connection methods, an advanced PixArt PAW3395 sensor with a 26,000 DPI resolution and acceleration up to 50G, six programmable keys with a lifespan of 100 million clicks, up to 50 hours of battery life, and customization software.
The OKLIK 980GMW comes in a small cardboard box, painted black, red, and blue. The front features an image of the model and its key features. The back features a list of its technical specifications.
Inside the packaging, the mouse is placed on a plastic backing and sealed in a transparent bag for additional protection. The package includes the mouse itself, a USB-A receiver for wireless connection (hidden inside the device), a 1.6-meter USB-A to USB-C cable, and instructions.
The OKLIK 980GMW is an ergonomically shaped mouse designed for right-handed use. It is made of black plastic with a non-marking soft-touch coating. Its dimensions are 64 x 41 x 123.5 mm and it weighs 48 grams.
The top panel is adorned with the brand logo. Two separate right-click and left-click buttons are also visible, each with a comfortable, recessed feel for your fingertips. Between them is a textured rubberized scroll wheel, beneath which is a DPI adjustment button. All three buttons require medium pressure to press, producing a soft click. The scroll wheel rotates easily, with tactile feedback for each step. Its clicking action is firm and quiet.
The front side is equipped with a USB-C connector in the central part for connecting the cable.
The side edges are slightly concave for improved ergonomics. Additionally, on the left side are two separate, elongated keys. They are positioned comfortably, allowing the thumb to rest firmly on them when needed.
The base has three Teflon feet for improved gliding. They are covered with a protective film out of the box. The central part houses the Pixart PAW3395 optical sensor. To the right of it is a three-position switch for selecting the connection method (Bluetooth, 2.4 GHz, USB), and to the left is a button for switching channels (Bluetooth 1, Bluetooth 2, 2.4 GHz radio). Closer to the back, a cover is visible, concealing a compartment for storing the USB-A adapter.
OKLIK 980GMW supports three connection methods:
In the latter case, it is possible to use two channels, which means that the mouse can be connected to four devices simultaneously.
The connection is standard. Use the switch on the bottom to select the desired connection method. If you’re using wireless sync with multiple devices simultaneously, use the button on the bottom to additionally select the desired channel.
You don’t need to install a driver to use the mouse, but to access its settings, you’ll need to download a proprietary utility from the official model page on the brand’s website in the “Downloads” section . After installing and launching it, you’ll see a single window with all the settings. These include:
The remaining battery charge is also displayed here, and there is a button for controlling the mouse using native Windows tools.
The OKLIK 980GMW has a discreet design, making it suitable for both casual users and gamers. Its asymmetrical shape and compact size enhance its ergonomics, while its modest weight reduces hand strain, ensuring fatigue-free use even after extended hours.
The build quality is impeccable, and the plastic used in the device feels pleasant. It’s tactilely pleasing, doesn’t feel cheap, and doesn’t attract fingerprints, eliminating the need for constant cleaning.
All of this is complemented by excellent glide thanks to Teflon feet, a long service life of 100 million clicks for the switches, and a conveniently located button layout that can also be reprogrammed.
The setup app’s interface may be a bit simple, but it’s intuitive and offers a wealth of features. This makes it easy to navigate even for the most inexperienced PC user.
There are three connection options, including two Bluetooth channels. This allows the mouse to work with four devices simultaneously, which is quite practical. In my case, it was connected to a PC via a wire, to a TV via a wireless connection, and to a laptop via Bluetooth. All three methods provided excellent connection quality without any dropouts or delays. The high-quality, fabric-braided cable deserves special mention. Besides being highly durable and extremely flexible, it’s also incredibly long. This allows it to be extended even to the rear ports of a computer case located under a desk.
The mouse uses the advanced PixArt PAW3395 optical sensor, which offers a resolution of 26,000 DPI and acceleration of 50G. It also boasts low latency and adjustable lift-off distance. This promises excellent performance in both general use and across all gaming genres. This has proven true in real-world use, and the mouse has proven itself to be a fast, accurate, and responsive device, comfortable to use throughout the workday.
Finally, I’d like to note the battery’s decent battery life, which, according to the manufacturer, is 50 hours. Based on my observations, this is accurate, meaning you’ll only need to charge it once a week on average. It recharges to full capacity in 2 hours, and you can still use it while it’s charging, which I consider a plus.
The price of OKLIK 980GMW is 3200 rubles.
For this price, you get an ergonomic device with good build quality, a discreet design, high-quality materials, and a high level of ergonomics. It also features three ways to connect to four devices simultaneously, six programmable buttons, long-lasting switches, user-friendly setup software, an advanced optical sensor, and a long battery life.
Given the above and the lack of downsides, the OKLIK 980GMW is a good choice for those looking for a high-quality, productive mouse for work and play that won’t break the bank.
