Earthshifts in Elden Ring Nightreign are massive world events covering a quarter of the map. As the events’ scope shrinks toward the second day, their completion becomes imperative. Each Earthshift grants a unique power useful against various bosses in the game.
The “Forsaken Hollows” update introduced the Great Void —the first Earth Shift, which completely reshapes the entire map. This location is extremely dangerous due to the numerous chasms into which you can fall and die. In this guide, we’ll explain how to obtain the Grace of the Great Void and what its power is.
How to activate the Great Void in Elden Ring Nightreign
After launching the game, speak with the Iron Servant and then approach the Small Jar Merchant , who will point to a door. Interact with it to begin the fight with the Lord of Precipitation . Whether you defeat him or not doesn’t matter— there is no reward for this encounter . After the fight, speak with both DLC characters to unlock them. This will also activate the Earthshift event “The Great Void.”
Important: Even if the event is active, the Great Void will only appear when you load a downloadable content objective , such as Balancers or the Lord of Fallout. Once you enter the map, you’ll find everything has changed. You’ll need to get used to the new routes and optimizations to reach level 15 by the end of day two.
How to obtain the Great Void’s Favor
To gain power from this Earth Shift, explore the map and find blue crystals. These crystals can be resonated with to destroy them . Destroying each crystal also damages the large crystal in the center of the map. Crystals can appear in multiple possible locations during each expedition.
In a single player game you need to destroy three crystals, and in two-player and three-player modes – four .
After resonating with enough crystals , you’ll see the Great Crystal completely shatter . You can now proceed to its location, marked on the map. Two crystal paths lead to the center of the shattered crystal , where you can jump down and collect the Grace of the Great Void . This power increases your Arts meter when you run out of Sacred Flasks . The effect lasts until the end of the expedition. However, the second part of this power is related to lifting the crystal curse .
The Crystal Curse affects the northwest and southeast of the map , where two towers and the surrounding structures can be found. These towers have several floors, each with a powerful boss. If you manage to defeat them all, you’ll receive a bonus power that increases the amount of Darkness gained during the expedition and also speeds up the automatic charging of your Ultimate Art .
