The Dungeon is a secret location in Hogwarts Legacy , revealed to players only during the quest “In the Shadow of the Dungeon.” Known to the Gaunt family for generations, it became a secret refuge for Ominis Gaunt and the Sallow twins , Sebastian and Anne.
While the trio previously played Gobstones here, players can now use the room as a spell training area , especially Wingardium Leviosa, thanks to the numerous barrels. There’s also a second secret entrance to the Dungeon from outside the castle.
How to find the Dungeon in Hogwarts Legacy
You can only enter the Dungeon after starting the quest “In the Shadow of the Dungeon .” This is the 18th quest in the game, following the mission “The Secret Room.”
Don’t forget to use the “Path to Goal” feature in the Guide by pressing Up on the D-pad or the V key . This will create a trail leading to the goal.
The player will receive a marker directing them to meet Sebastian at the skeleton of a large horned creature in the Defense Against the Dark Arts Tower.
Simply follow the direction the skeleton’s horn points, turning left from the stairs into a dead end . There you’ll find a magic cabinet leading to the Dungeon.
How to get to the Dungeon via the Powder Network
Unlike other secret rooms in Hogwarts, such as the Map Room or the Chamber of Secrets, the Dungeon does not have its own Powder Network point for fast travel.
The closest point is the Defense Against the Dark Arts Tower in the Astronomy Wing. From here:
- Go down the stairs, keeping to the right side of the railing, and turn right.
- Stop at the large skeleton of a horned creature.
- Stay on this floor and go in the direction the horn points.
- Continue forward to the dead end where the secret cabinet is.
From the Transfiguration Courtyard , you can enter the tower’s double doors, climb the stairs, turn left, and you’ll see a skeleton that will point the way to the Dungeon.
Entrance to the Dungeon from Isadora Morgan’s house
Later, during the quest “In the Shadow of the Estate” , the protagonist and Sebastian will explore the ruins of Isadora’s house.
After entering and passing under the hole in the wall, go down the stairs into the basement .
In the basement, destroy the wall of shelves with normal attacks. Behind it is a mirror, which is a secret passage to the Dungeon , and therefore to Hogwarts.
Beware of the Devil’s Snare in Isadora’s house. Use the Lumos spell to repel them.
Unfortunately, this passage only works one way , so it cannot be used to fast travel from Hogwarts to Feldcroft.
