Equipment and design

The GameSir G7 Pro Zenless Zone Zero Edition immediately asserts its premium status. Instead of the usual small box, it uses a large-sized case for packaging. wrapped in a clear plastic case.
The black box features the model name, platform compatibility information, a picture of the controller and its key features, and also specifically mentions that the device is certified for Xbox consoles and even includes a coupon for a 1-month Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription .

The interior of the packaging is divided into three compartments.

The bottom compartment contains the GameSir G7 Pro Zenless Zone Zero Edition gamepad, a charging station, and three pairs of thumbsticks of varying lengths (two pairs with convex heads and one with a concave head), all housed in a high-quality, durable case with a soft-touch coating and a zipper closure. This case is useful if you decide to take the controller with you , for example, when visiting a friend to play Mortal Kombat 1 or Split Fiction together . It features a strap for easy carrying, a pocket for cable storage, and even a small window through which you can connect the charging cable to the station and charge the gamepad while it’s in the case.

The middle compartment contains accessories: replaceable clear acrylic panels for the gamepad body, a 2.4 GHz dongle for wireless connection of the device, two replaceable D-pads, another pair of concave thumbsticks, two pairs of silicone thumbstick caps, and a three-meter USB-A to USB-C cable.

Finally, the top compartment contains the user manual, a GameSir sticker, and cards with codes for 1 month of Xbox Game Pass. Ultimate and in-game items for Zenless Zone Zero, and a double acrylic keychain with ZZZ characters.
The GameSir G7 Pro Zenless Zone Zero Edition comes with a comprehensive set of accessories, making it a great gift for yourself or a friend who’s a fan of anime gachas, especially ZZZ.

The new model’s body is identical to the GameSir G7 Pro and GameSir G7 Pro WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers Edition controllers , and also resembles an Xbox gamepad in its button layout and asymmetrical thumbstick position. The only difference from the previously reviewed models is the color scheme: the handles and center panel are made of matte black plastic with translucent inserts.

If you wish, you can replace them with fully transparent panels from the set, or combine them as you wish.

The lower part of the grips has a rubberized surface with a fine-mesh texture, providing a more comfortable grip. On the back of the controller are additional L4 and R4 keys, with locking levers next to them to prevent accidental pressing. Another pair of levers are located near the triggers; they can be used to switch the mode of each trigger—from analog to digital and back again. The lever in the middle controls the gamepad’s connection options: Bluetooth, USB, or 2.4 GHz radio. Below it are the charging contacts for the docking station.

The controller’s bumpers and triggers are textured. Underneath the bumpers are additional L5 and R5 mini-bumpers. A USB port is located in the center of the front edge, and next to it is a smartphone mount (not included). The rear edge accommodates a dongle pairing button, a 3.5mm headphone jack , and a microphone mute button.

The ABXY keys are optical-mechanical, with a distinct click and noticeable tactile feedback. The font is styled after the font from the game Zenless Zone Zero. The D-pad is mechanical, also offering a distinct click. The pre-installed D-pad can be replaced with a more traditional D-pad included with the game.

The GameSir G7 Pro Zenless Zone Zero Edition charging station is made of matte, slightly rough plastic. Its front features the “ZZZ” logo, and underneath it is an LED strip that flashes while the controller is charging. The base rests on rubberized feet and has a slot for a 2.4 GHz dongle, allowing you to connect both the dock and the dongle using just one computer port.
Connection and setup

The gamepad supports three connection modes: wired USB, wireless 2.4 GHz, and Bluetooth. The first and second options are available for PC and Xbox, while the third is for Android smartphones and tablets .
You can customize the model through the GameSir Nexus app . The software tabs allow you to remap keys, customize the sticks, triggers, vibration, and gyroscope, update the device’s firmware, and more. Remarkably, the app interface adapts to the specific model: the confirm and cancel buttons are styled to match the model we’re reviewing.
The key mapping option is especially noteworthy. It allows you to select commands not only for the gamepad but also for the mouse and keyboard , including key combinations. This allows you to assign unique commands to the additional paddles and bumpers, such as displaying an overlay, limiting the frame rate, taking a screenshot, switching between windows, and so on. This feature eliminates the need to reach for the keyboard while gaming.
Impressions of use
The GameSir G7 Pro Zenless Zone Zero Edition not only looks great, but also feels great in your hands, with near-perfect ergonomics. This isn’t surprising, as the manufacturer based its design on the Xbox controller, one of the best controllers for comfort.
The model features sticks featuring GameSir’s proprietary Mag-Res TMR technology: they resist drifting , are wear-resistant, and provide an ultra-long lifespan. Hall-effect triggers accurately track pressure, allowing for smooth acceleration adjustments in racing games. The levers at the bottom of the controller can be switched to digital mode—with a short throw and clicky microswitches—for instant input registration in shooters and platformers .

The ABXY keys and D-pad are also equipped with switches, offering a satisfying click and instant response that players are sure to appreciate.
The device has a 1200 mAh battery, which provides approximately 6-7 hours of continuous play. The smart charging station activates as soon as you place the gamepad on it, and when you remove it from the station, it immediately turns on and is ready to use.
Conclusion

The GameSir G7 Pro Zenless Zone Zero Edition is worth considering not only for ZZZ fans but also for anyone looking for a good, high-quality gamepad with a comprehensive set of features. This model allows you to customize absolutely every aspect, from the case’s appearance and stick length to key assignments and vibration feedback.
Additionally, the controller features powerful hardware, a high polling rate, and fast response to input, as well as good battery life and smart battery charging.
The device’s only drawback is its higher price compared to many gamepads. However, the build quality, stable operation, and decent set of accessories are certainly worth the extra cost. In any case, the final decision is yours.
