Dispatch Guide: How to Get the "Sorry" or "You Didn't See This Coming" Achievement (Hidden RMC Counter)

The first season of the episodic adventure game Dispatch has come to an end. Many players are still trying to unlock the remaining hidden achievements and obtain more challenging achievements and trophies. One of them is related to the hidden RMC stat, which stands for RobertMentorCounter.

So, RMC, or RobertMentorCounter, is a hidden counter that influences Nevidiva’s ending. If you reach a high enough RMC, you’ll get the best ending, where Nevidiva becomes a full-fledged superhero and a member of the I-Team, ending up on the receiving end of a bullet fired from Polog’s gun and intended for Robert. Otherwise, the ending is the “villain” ending. In it, Nevidiva remains true to her past and, instead of acting like a member of the I-Team and a superhero, kills Polog herself. Some might say he deserved it…

Almost everything affects the RobertMentorCounter stat. RMC increases or decreases through storyline choices, successful or failed hacks, and even during QTEs (provided you’ve enabled this option, of course). All of this will be described below. Furthermore, Robert’s Mentoring Indicator is also affected by his work as a dispatcher (how successful or unsuccessful his calls are).

Reddit user u/Geohfunk did a great job and shared the results of his extensive testing, which revealed the following patterns:

  • Sending Nevidiva on a successful summon in Episodes 2-6 will grant +1 to Robert’s Mentorship Gauge.
  • Sending Nevidiva on a failed challenge in Episodes 2-6 (even without the condition that she was injured) inflicts a -1 penalty to Robert’s Mentoring Gauge.
  • Sending Invisibles to Heroic Training with Blondie Blazer immediately provides +5 to Robert’s Mentoring Indicator.

How high you can level up your Robert Mentorship Meter (RMC) is entirely up to you. Story decisions, successful hacks, and completed QTEs can earn you a total of 36 RMC points. You can earn another 6 points by going on a date with Nevidiva in Episode 4 .

Regarding the dispatcher job: there are eight shifts between Episodes 2 and 6. If you’re a very skilled SDS dispatcher and send Nevidiva out on five successful calls each time, and she also attends Heroic Training, you can earn up to 45 additional RMC points. However, on average, players earn much less (usually around 20).

How many points do you need for the superhero ending?

According to the Cond_Visi_Good_Calculation file, as separately confirmed by another Reddit user under the nickname u/niznetl, you will need an RMC value ≥ 45.

You can cheat by using the interactive movie option , which disables all QTE sequences (meaning they are considered successful by default), and by using the unlimited hacks setting (where, if you fail, the game prompts you to retry the hack as many times as needed to succeed). User u/Dr_Kaon confirmed that such QTE sequences (or rather, the lack thereof) and hacks are automatically successful and affect, among other things, the RMC indicator.

There’s no need to level up Nevidiva to get the superhero ending. Of course, the more missions she completes, the higher her rank will be and the more RMC points you’ll earn. However, Nevidiva’s level has no bearing on achieving the superhero ending.

As an example, one player managed to get a full 36 points for story decisions, hacks, and QTEs, adding 6 points for a date with Nevidiva in Episode 4, and sending her to Hero Training with Blondie just once for 5 points. As a result, by the end of the game, Nevidiva was only level 1, but had 47 RMC, and the player experienced the superhero ending.

Regarding the moment in Episode 7 where you can approach or distance yourself from Nevidiva in the locker room to kiss her or decline intimacy, it has absolutely no effect. Whether or not you kiss Nevidiva in the locker room in Episode 7 is a scene unlocked by another hidden counter called the Sweet_Exit_Counter. It’s increased by specific dialogue choices in several episodes.

For example, in the fourth episode, when Nevidiva talks about her erotic dream, the answer “And how do you like me?” gives +1 to Sweet_Exit_Counter, while the answer “Did I have a big…?” simply gives nothing.

To unlock the kiss scene, your Sweet_Exit_Counter must be ≥ 5. Therefore, whether you approach Nevidiva or distance yourself from her in Episode 7 has no effect on your mentoring or RMC. This is a purely romantic route and has no bearing on your mentoring or support of Nevidiva.

The romance with Blondie Blazer is structured traditionally and uses TRUE/FALSE variables—like in good old BioWare games , where one or two options are enough to “lock in” the romance. Choosing between Mandy, Blazer, or both only affects the Robert_Hero and Robert_AntiHero counters. It doesn’t affect either the romance with Blondie Blazer or your RMC score.

Now that everything is clear, let’s move on to the decisions that affect the increase or decrease of the RMC indicator.

Episode 1. Transition

In the first episode, there are no decisions that affect your RMC score. Feel free to argue with reporters and so on.

Episode 2: The First Day

Hacking the Fire Sprinklers at Donut Grandpa’s:

  • Successful – Receive +1 to Robert’s Mentoring Metric (RMC).
  • Failed – receive a -1 penalty to Robert’s Mentoring Indicator (RMC).

After the mission, when you argue with Invisible in the break room, RMC can decrease when choosing the following options:

  • I can’t disappear. No change .
  • I would find better friends. No change.
  • You chose this life. -1 penalty to Robert’s Mentoring Indicator (RMC)

Next:

  • You violated the order. No change.
  • I reported you to Chase. -1 penalty to Robert’s Mentoring Meter (RMC).
  • Do you think this is luck? No change.

And then:

  • Mechamen is not just a costume. No changes.
  • You need me. No changes.
  • I’m the real hero here. -1 penalty to Robert’s Mentoring Meter (RMC)

Later in Blondie Blazer’s office , you can lose another point:

  • Dry air. No change.
  • I was hit by Nevidiva. -1 penalty to Robert’s Mentoring Indicator (RMC)
  • Hit my head. No changes.

Episode 3: Routine

During a motivational talk on a swing, the first line does not affect RMC, but the second does:

  • One last time, goodbye. No changes .
  • Take your anger out on him. -1 penalty to Robert’s Mentoring Meter (RMC)
  • Everything can change. Receive +1 to Robert’s Mentorship Indicator (RMC).

Next come two more hacking missions. The first camera hack in the jewelry store is impossible to fail, so it doesn’t affect RMC. The second camera hack in the jewelry store:

  • Successful – gain +2 to Robert’s Mentoring Meter (RMC).
  • Failed – receive a -2 penalty to Robert’s Mentoring Indicator (RMC).

Hacking the main lighting in a jewelry store:

  • Successful – gain +2 to Robert’s Mentoring Meter (RMC).
  • Failed – receive a -2 penalty to Robert’s Mentoring Indicator (RMC).

Episode 4: Reform

The only thing that affects RMC in this episode is the choice of who you go on a date with:

  • Go to the cinema with Nevidiva – get +5 to Robert’s Mentoring Indicator (RMC)
  • Dinner with Blondie Blazer. No changes.

Only if you go on a date with Nevidiva, you can further increase your RMC with the following lines:

  • We’re working on it. No changes .
  • We’re already there, I think. Get +1 to Robert’s Mentorship Indicator (RMC).
  • Is this what you want? No changes.

These 6 points are the only ones related to the romance line, and dinner with Blondie Blazer does not give any minuses.

Episode 5: Team Spirit

During the bar fight, there are four QTE sequences that can be failed, but only three of them affect RMC. The QTE in the restroom doesn’t count because Nevidiva can’t see it, meaning she’s not thinking about it.

QTE against the Mantisa woman:

  • Successful – Receive +1 to Robert’s Mentoring Metric (RMC).
  • Failed – receive a -1 penalty to Robert’s Mentoring Indicator (RMC).

QTE for dodging at the bar counter:

  • Successful – Receive +1 to Robert’s Mentoring Metric (RMC).
  • Failed – receive a -1 penalty to Robert’s Mentoring Indicator (RMC).

QTE with hands:

  • Successful – gain +2 to Robert’s Mentoring Meter (RMC).
  • Failed – receive a -2 penalty to Robert’s Mentoring Indicator (RMC).

Surprisingly, revealing your identity is also a major change for RMC:

  • I’m Robert. -5 penalty to Robert’s Mentoring Metric (RMC)
  • I am Mekhamen. Receive +5 to Robert’s Mentorship Meter (RMC).

Episode 6: Chain Links

When Nevidiva reveals her plan to find the Astral Pulser, the following choice is available:

  • Why are you doing this? Receive +1 to Robert’s Mentorship Indicator (RMC).
  • Are you sure it will work? No changes.
  • Thanks, folks. Get +1 to Robert’s Mentorship Meter (RMC)

After the dance scene (with Nevidiva or Blondie), when Nevidiva starts arguing with Blazer:

  • Let’s go today. Get +1 to Robert’s Mentorship Indicator (RMC)
  • You’re out of your league. -1 penalty to Robert’s Mentoring Metric (RMC)
  • Let’s make a plan. Get +1 to Robert’s Mentoring Meter (RMC)

There are points again for successful and failed hacks in the dock. The first hack, involving finding the Astral Pulser, cannot be failed—it doesn’t affect RMC.

Breaking the door:

  • Successful – Receive +1 to Robert’s Mentoring Metric (RMC).
  • Failed – receive a -1 penalty to Robert’s Mentoring Indicator (RMC).

Loudspeaker Hacking:

  • Successful – gain +2 to Robert’s Mentoring Meter (RMC).
  • Failed – receive a -2 penalty to Robert’s Mentoring Indicator (RMC).

Crane hack:

  • Successful – gain +2 to Robert’s Mentoring Meter (RMC).
  • Failed – receive a -2 penalty to Robert’s Mentoring Indicator (RMC).

Safe Cracking:

  • Successful – Receive +1 to Robert’s Mentoring Metric (RMC).
  • Failed – surprisingly unchanged.

Episode 8: Synergy

  • You heard Royd. No change.
  • I don’t trust you. -2 penalty to Robert’s Mentoring Metric (RMC)

And finally, the key decision, when Nevidiva asks to untie her:
