A true slacker, fond of gossip and jokes—but none of this prevents Wulfgard from being a skilled operative with a focus on heat damage. He instantly became a fan favorite thanks to his design, combat prowess, and charisma. He’s one of the most sought-after characters from the Recruitment banners in Arknights: Endfield.
You’ll encounter Wulfgard fairly quickly during the main storyline, but adding this five-star caster to your team will require some effort and resources on “Recruit.” Once you manage to knock him out, you’ll have access to one of the best heat damage operators in the game.
Wulfgard wields powerful pistols, effectively applying heat and making him invaluable in teams with elemental reactions. Despite this, he is also capable of fighting confidently on his own, relying on his strength and agility, which is logical for such a character.
Another of his strengths is his versatility. Wulfgard fits into almost any team type. His ability to apply Burn makes him attractive to players, as it provides damage from his arts and helps him deal with enemies in any role—both active and support.

After applying Burn, thermal damage is increased by 50% for 10 seconds; after Corrosion, nature damage is increased by 50% for 10 seconds (these effects do not stack). For the fourth item, take the gloves from the “Mieshko” set, which provide +5% critical strike chance.

The best operatives for Wulfgard’s team
- Main team : Wulfgard, Antal, Perlika, Arclight.
- Alternative team : Wulfgard, Laevatein, Ardelia, Akukeri.
While Wulfgard isn’t a free-to-play operator, he synergizes well with several F2P and four-star characters. His combination with Antal, Perlika, and Arclight is one of the most powerful: Perlika joins early for free, her Electric abilities synergize well with Wulfgard’s Heat abilities, and Antal boosts both Heat and Electric damage. Arclight boosts the Electric effect, ensuring active burning.
If you’re lucky enough to get Laevatein from the first special banner, it makes for a great alternative team. Wulfgard and Akukeri also synergize well, so if you don’t have any of the first-choice characters, they can easily be replaced with someone from the standard “Recruitment” pool.
Wulfgard Ability Overview and Leveling Priorities
- Basic attack (combo) “Rapid-Fire Miracles.” Wulfgard opens fire with a combo of four shots (or strikes), each amplifying the previous one and dealing increasing heat damage at rates of 68%, 79%, 125%, and 152%. This basic chain serves as a reliable tool for constant pressure on the enemy.
- Air Assault . Wulfgard’s jump attack blasts an area around him, dealing 180% heat damage to nearby enemies—a great way to jump into combat and immediately set the pace.
- Finishing Move . A devastating attack is launched against a stunned enemy, dealing 900% thermal damage and instantly restoring Skill Points. This allows for continued chaining of devastating abilities without interruption.
- The combat skill “Scorching Wake .” Wulfgard fires a precise shot at a target, dealing 230% thermal damage and applying the Heat Strike debuff. If the enemy is already under the effects of an electrified effect (such as Perlika or Antal) or the Combustion debuff, this skill truly shines. Instead of simply refreshing the status, Wulfgard fires an additional shot, dealing a whopping 850% thermal damage. This consumes the reaction, resetting the active status, requiring precise timing and understanding of team rotations.
- The “Fragment Grenade Beta” combo skill is a passive skill that automatically triggers “from the pocket.” The skill activates if an enemy is affected by “Arts Smite,” a magical debuff. Wulfgard throws a grenade that explodes, dealing 135% heat damage in an area and applying “Heat Smite” to all enemies hit. The ability has a 20-second cooldown, making it an excellent tool for setting groups of enemies ablaze.
- Super Skill “Wolf’s Fury .” Wulfgard begins firing chaotically in all directions, firing five shots. Each deals 72% heat damage and, crucially, inflicts the Combustion effect. Ideal for initiating combat and setting enemies up for devastating allied attacks.
For Wulfgard, it’s important to level up skills evenly to maximize heat damage and the chance to cause fire. Combat skills are prioritized, especially for heat/electricity-based attacks, followed by combo skills and super skills, with basic attack leveling last.
The first talent increases heat damage. The second returns a portion of HP when successfully using a reaction through a combat skill. The more copies of Wulfgard you have, the stronger he becomes in elemental teams.
