How to Get to Mars in Astra Malorum: A Complete Guide to the Black Ops 7 Zombies Easter Egg

If you want to get to Mars or simply complete the Astra Malorum Easter egg without any problems, this guide is the perfect place for quick solutions. In Astra Malorum, you’ll face a planet puzzle in the Astralis Machine, where you need to arrange the planets in a specific order around the Sun. Luckily, this process is much simpler than it seems. We’ll tell you how to reach this stage of the main quest, where to find instructions for moving planets in your game, and what you need to do to get to Mars in Black Ops 7 Zombies .

How to begin the planetary alignment phase in Astra Malorum

You need to make sufficient progress in the main “Astra Malorum” Easter egg: first, obtain the LGM-1, then take Dr. Thurston’s brain and place it in the perfusion apparatus in the “Astralis Machine.” After that, you need to solve the book puzzle (details here). Once solved, a hatch will open in the ceiling of the Orbis Archives on the western wall. Climb the ladder, look inside, and interact with the sphere to obtain the model of the planet Neptune.

Return to the Astralis Machine room with the Neptune model. You can now interact with the empty planetarium slot, which is located at the top of the stairs when facing the sun from the southeast. Place Neptune in the slot to activate the planetarium. Now you need to arrange the planets in a specific order.

All paper locations in Astra Malorum

After activating the planetarium, it’s time to align the planets in the correct order. The alignment order is unique for each game session, but the instructions remain the same. First, you need to find three unique pieces of paper. Their spawn points are fixed, but the directions and planets they indicate vary:

Planet Paper #1 – “Astralis Machine”

While in the “Astralis Machine” room, face south to find a small table. On it is a piece of paper with the name of the planet and a direction. This table is on the same central level where the Secret Box can spawn.

Planet Paper #2 – Orbis Archive

Inside the Orbis Archives, where the Stamin-Up perk is located, look for the central table in the room. On the far side is a second piece of paper with the name of the planet and directions.

Planet Paper #3 – “Luminarum”

Go to the Luminarum, where the Jugger-Nog perk is, and enter the room with the trap. Inside, against the northwest wall, is a coffee table. On it is the third piece of paper with the name of the planet and directions.

How to Solve the Planetary Alignment Puzzle in Astra Malorum (and Get to Mars)

Now that you have all three pieces of paper, write down the planets and directions indicated on them. The planets could be Saturn, Neptune, or Mars. The directions are indicated by the initial letters of the English words: north (N), northwest (NW), northeast (NE), east (E), south (S), southeast (SE), southwest (SW), and west (W).

Return to the Astralis Machine room and look at the model of the Solar System in the center. Under the Sun, you’ll see a compass with the cardinal directions indicated. Your task is to shoot the planets indicated in your notes so that they line up with the direction indicated on the paper

After you’ve shot each correct planet, aligning it with the direction indicated on your notes, you can interact with Dr. Thurston’s brain. This will immediately trigger a “lockdown” event. An OSCAR will be summoned to the “Astralis Machine” room, and your goal is to hold out while the portal charges. You must defend the portal from the OSCAR, which will fire UFOs attempting to destroy it. Continue running around the room to avoid the OSCAR.

…and also from zombies, and watch out for the portal, which will be approached by hovering UFOs.

Once fully charged, the portal will immediately pull you inside, teleporting you to Mars. You can now use Mars as a convenient training location or continue completing the Easter egg. To leave Mars (and return at any time), pick up Dr. Thurston’s brain located in the center and place it on the altar at your spawn point. A teleporter will now be activated, returning you to the Astralis Machine .
