However, fuel efficiency is a key consideration, especially if you want to smelt as much ore as possible while away from home. Fortunately, Hytale is quite generous in this regard, both in resource availability and in the efficiency of the most common fuels.

The best furnace fuel in Hytale

Currently, the best fuel for furnaces in Hytale is simple wooden logs of any kind . In our tests, we used a tier 2 furnace to smelt cobalt ore with various fuels and obtained the following results:

• 100 units of charcoal were enough for 33 cobalt ingots.
• 100 sticks were enough for 22 cobalt ingots.
• 100 amber logs were enough to make approximately 50 cobalt ingots. However, only 70 logs were used.

Fuel efficiency was the same for all logs , so it’s safe to assume this rule applies to all types of wood. In any case, wooden logs are not only very efficient for smelting, but also ubiquitous and easy to obtain (unless you’re in a tree-free area).
