The presentation revealed that players will be able to purchase real estate and businesses throughout Albion—with sufficient success, they can even buy out all the properties and become a mega-landlord. Judging by the reaction, fans are eagerly awaiting this feature above all else. Of course, the game lacks the iconic mechanic of changing the protagonist’s appearance based on their actions, but who needs that when rent money is flowing into your pockets while you’re doing absolutely nothing.

Larian’s Director of Publishing, Michael Dawes, noted :
You can tell Fable is a fantasy role-playing game because you can become a landlord in it.
And Jez Cordon of Windows Central is looking forward to evicting tenants:
I’m going to be the worst landlord in Fable history.
People are having a hard time believing Playground Games even included this feature. Nerdist social media manager Lee Travis asks:
Who even asked for a tenant eviction simulator in Fable?
Larian Creative Content Manager Ben Maltz-Jones added:
In Fable, you can become one of the most evil creatures imaginable, hated by everyone – the landlord.
We’ve all slain mythical beasts, wielded magic, and saved the world thousands of times. But hardly anyone has ever had the chance to become a landlord with the power to raise rents at will and make people homeless. Sure, city builders and some management games come close, but not to the extent of Fable .
In general, the enthusiasm for renting and owning property only clearly demonstrates how painful this topic is for many modern gamers.
