Owlcat Games has launched the alpha version of Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy.

Players have access to content for 10-15 hours of gameplay.

In the alpha, heroes will team up with several Inquisition servants—and even some xenos, if necessary—to realize their ambitions. Over the 10-15 hours allotted for the alpha, players will learn the basics of the combat system , become familiar with the intricacies of the Inquisition, and solve mysteries using the new detective system.

Inquisitors will feel the world around them change based on their decisions: characters will remember who you accuse, who you spare, and how you behave. Plot lines and even the environment itself will change based on your actions.

The alpha also showcases a number of improved gameplay features: map movement is much more vertical than in Rogue Trader , and the combat system offers new tactical possibilities, such as suppressing an enemy by attacking their weak points or breaking their resolve without killing them.

The alpha will be open for several months; fans can join at any time by purchasing the digital developer pack or collector’s edition. Player feedback will be incorporated into the beta and final version of Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy.
