The X-ray is one of the most advanced tools in Quarantine Zone: The Last Check, allowing you to examine survivors’ internal organs and detect signs of infection. These symptoms can be difficult to spot at first, especially since players initially only know one, and it’s a “green” type, meaning a person can be sent to the survivors’ block with it. In this guide, we’ll explain in detail how to use the X-ray and list all the types of organ damage to look out for.
How to Use X-rays in the Quarantine Zone: The Last Check
In its basic form, X-ray is easy to use: hold down the designated control button (LMB / RT / R2) and move the image around, examining different parts of the body to find damaged or abnormal organs.
You can also switch between viewing modes using ( mouse wheel / RB + Y / R1 + “triangle”).

X-ray viewing modes
There are four modes available. Below is a description of what they look like when the organs are healthy:
Base
- Displays all organs at once.
Lower
- Shows the upper organs, freeing up the view from below.

Upper
- Shows the lower organs and brain while hiding the top
All
- Doesn’t show organs at all – ideal for detecting contraband
These modes are extremely important. For example, the brain is only visible in the “Top” mode, while some organs are more easily viewed in the “Bottom” or “Top” layer. You can also zoom in using (RMB / LT / L2). Remember to inspect the body from behind—as with other tools, this can be crucial.
All organ symptoms on X-ray in Quarantine Zone: The Last Check
After unlocking the X-ray, players are only aware of the “Internal Bleeding” symptom. Other symptoms can be unlocked by discovering them and confirming them in the lab, after which they will appear in the symptom list.
- Internal bleeding is a common affliction. It’s indicated by a green symbol. You can send a survivor to the block with the others. Bleeding from the vessels, the organs are typically red and covered with scars. Keep in mind that there’s one organ that will always be yellow. It can appear differently depending on the organ, making it difficult to spot.

- A different organ color indicates disease or infection. Orange symbol. Organs have an unnatural color, most often a light purple hue. Once you memorize the normal colors of healthy organs, such abnormalities become easily noticeable. However, all organs will be red by default, except one, which is always yellow.

- Mold on an organ indicates infection. Red symbol. The organ is covered with green or blue spores, and small growths are visible. Such a survivor is infected and should be removed. Most often, an infected organ will have a bluish tint.

- Fatty liver disease is a common disease. Green symbol. It’s a widespread condition caused by poor nutrition. The organ is yellow and appears “rotting,” but this isn’t a sign of infection. And remember, one organ will always be approximately this color.

- Organ necrosis is an infection. Red symbol. Characterized by black spots and darkening.
If the organs do not have a purple or blue tint and there are no black spots on them, then the survivor is fine.
Detecting Internal Contraband Using X-Ray
A few days after opening the X-ray, you’ll be notified that some survivors have begun hiding contraband inside their own bodies. Use the “All” mode on the X-ray, which hides organs.

If you notice a suspicious object, mark it with the appropriate control button (E / X / Square key) during X-ray inspection. The object will be highlighted in orange.
After this, a new employee will join the case:
- Approach Charlie, the man in the white hazmat suit with the tray.
- Press the interact button to make him retrieve the item.
- The confiscated items will appear on the tray, after which you can confiscate it.
Important : Do not confiscate food found inside survivors.
Metal detector and x-ray
The metal detector that survivors pass through at the entrance can be upgraded to detect gunpowder, drugs, and other substances. If the detector is triggered and the survivor has no backpack or nothing suspicious is found in it, it’s time to perform an X-ray and find the object inside.
