While exploring the Rhodes Hill Medical Center in Resident Evil Requiem as Grace, you’ll find several blood samples hidden throughout the complex. These samples are tied to RE9’s unique crafting mechanics and allow Grace to craft new items, including medical or hemolytic injectors, pistol or Requiem ammo, and other useful items that will help her confront the most dangerous infected.
During your first playthrough of the game on Easy, Standard (Classic), or Standard (Modern) difficulty, you can find a total of three blood samples, none of which are tied to story locations. One more blood sample can only be obtained on the Insanity difficulty level. Below, we’ll explain where to find each blood sample and how to analyze it with a laser microscope in Resident Evil Requiem .
Before collecting blood samples, you’ll need a Level 1 ID Wristband, which will allow you to access restricted areas of the Rhodes Hill Medical Center. However, you can get your first sample a little earlier, and it’s hard to miss if you’re exploring every corner of the world.
Blood sample #1 – denaturation
The first blood sample is found in the Hematology Lab—a room you can access by passing through the reception area with the missing corpse. This is the same area where you obtain the Blood Collection System, so most players will find the sample naturally.

Once in the Blood Lab, pick up a blood sample (denaturation) and use the nearby laser microscope to analyze it. To complete the mini-puzzle and analyze the sample, click on the central gray cube, which will activate all adjacent ones. This will turn all nodes into active atoms (red circles), instantly completing the analysis.

Analyzing a blood sample (denaturation) unlocks the ability to craft pistol ammo and a hemolytic injector. The hemolytic injector is especially useful against zombies and allows you to destroy them with a single injection (except for stronger enemies or higher difficulties).
Blood sample #2 – convergence
To obtain the second and third blood samples, you’ll first need to obtain a Level 1 ID Wristband. It’s on a corpse in the hallway next to the lead researcher’s office. As you approach this area, a large, oversized, and heavily armored chunk zombie will spawn and begin chasing Grace. Avoid direct combat, run downstairs, and hide in the waiting room. You can craft three Hemolytic Injectors, sneak up behind the chunk, and inject them to kill the monster without using any ammo.

After obtaining ID Wristband 1, head to the waiting room. Inside this room, there’s a door that only opens with the wristband. This is the same room where the zombie maid is cleaning blood stains from the floor. Inside the storage room, you’ll find pistol ammo, a 12.7x55mm round for the Requiem, debris, and a blood sample (Convergence).

After collecting the sample, use a laser microscope to analyze the blood sample (convergence). To solve the mini-puzzle, follow these steps:
- click on the central cube among three located close to each other,
- after this, two more gray cubes will appear below,
- Activate the center cube in a new four-cube formation to complete the sequence.
After analyzing, recipes for the Medical Injector and 12.7x55mm Ammo for the Requiem are unlocked. To craft the latter, you’ll also need a rare metal, which can be found behind regular locks in drawers and cabinets using lockpicks .
Blood sample #3 – reversibility
The final blood sample (Reversibility) is located in the same hematology lab. However, you’re interested in an additional room next to the lab, the door to which is opened with a Level 1 ID Wristband. You already have it by now. Inside, you’ll find green grass, debris, a blood bag (50), an empty injector, a journal entry from Victor (document), and the “Reversibility” blood sample.

After collecting the blood sample, head to the laser microscope in the next room. Incidentally, there’s a similar microscope in the office on the second floor of the west wing. There’s no difference between the two!
This mini-puzzle consists of four steps:
- click on the central gray cube,
- look at the three cubes below and click on the central one,
- after this, four cubes will remain active,
- Click on the two outer cubes that are not connected to the central one – one on each side.
After completing the sequence, you’ll unlock recipes for steroids and stabilizers. To craft them, you’ll need empty injectors, and there are only three of them in the game. You’ve already found one in the next room, along with the blood sample (reversibility).
After analyzing all three blood samples, Grace’s crafting capabilities will be expanded to their maximum potential.
Blood sample No. 4 – “Polymerization”
This blood sample is only available on the Insanity difficulty level, and it appears in the waiting room, in a locker in which you also find the key to the pantry.
To solve the puzzle, follow these steps:
- click on the second square from the left,
- click on the second square from the right,
- Click on the second square in the middle.
After successful analysis, you’ll be able to craft 30 pistol rounds and the RIP knife. This knife can also be purchased with Ancient Coins in the Medical Center’s lounge.
