The FIFINE AmpliTank Tank6 microphone kit is designed for quick start . The package includes the dynamic microphone itself, a 2.5-meter USB-A to USB-C cable, a 3/8″ to 5/8″ threaded adapter, and a user manual. The microphone can be directly connected to a computer via USB and mounted on most standard stands or boom arms, eliminating the need for additional adapters. The 2.5-meter cable is long enough to place the microphone on a desktop stand or boom arm with a cable extending from the system unit.

The FIFINE AmpliTank Tank6 features a cylindrical body with a distinct front-facing focus. This dynamic model is directional, designed for capturing voices at close range. The all-metal body, with a matte black finish, enhances both the tactile feel and overall rigidity. However, it does show fingerprints quite easily.

The front of the microphone is covered by a dense, fine-mesh metal grille that serves several functions. It protects the capsule from mechanical impact, partially functions as a primary pop filter, and visually emphasizes the professional character of the device. The side panels also feature mesh inserts. This design is typically used to improve the stability of a dynamic capsule and reduce unwanted resonances in the housing.

The FIFINE AmpliTank Tank6 is pre-installed in a rigid U-shaped mount with side screw locks. This mounting method allows for precise angle adjustment and securely locks the selected position without sagging. The side adjusters are robust and designed for hand tightening without tools, making them convenient for frequently repositioning the microphone.

There are two physical controls on the top of the housing, which I’ll discuss in more detail in the next section. The controls are conveniently placed, don’t interfere with the microphone’s grip, and don’t protrude too much beyond the housing’s dimensions. The labels next to the controls are concise and easy to read. Overall, the design of the FIFINE AmpliTank Tank6 is focused on practical considerations: reliability, ease of setup, and stable operation in voice applications.

The FIFINE BM88 stand is designed for self-installation, eliminating the need for additional components or tools. The core of the kit is the microphone boom arm, which bears the bulk of the mechanical load and ensures the microphone’s positioning within the work area. The boom arm’s design allows for multiple angle adjustments without loss of rigidity.

The desk mount features a classic clamping mechanism and is designed to quickly and securely secure the boom arm to the tabletop. The adjustable clamping range from 20 to 60 mm allows the stand to fit most common desks, while the maximum clamping depth of approximately 50 mm ensures stability without placing undue pressure on the tabletop.

The swivel head with its ball-and-socket mechanism plays a key role in precisely adjusting the microphone’s position. It allows for smooth changes in the device’s angle and orientation without having to loosen multiple joints simultaneously. This simplifies adjusting the microphone’s position to suit the user’s height, desk position, or specific recording scenario.

The kit also includes threaded adapters that expand the stand’s compatibility with various types of equipment. A 1/4″ to 3/8″ adapter allows for the connection of devices and holders designed for photo and video equipment, while a 3/8″ to 5/8″ adapter ensures compatibility with most standard microphone mounts.

The included Allen key is designed for assembly and adjustment of all major joints. It is sufficient for initial installation and subsequent adjustment of the joint tension. A detailed user manual is included.

Features and impressions

Review of the FIFINE AmpliTank Tank6 microphone and FIFINE BM88 stand

Let’s begin, as usual, with the basic acoustic characteristics of the FIFINE AmpliTank Tank6, as they determine its suitability for speech recording in a wide range of applications, from podcasts to voiceovers and streaming. The claimed signal-to-noise ratio of over 80 dB for a USB/XLR microphone in this class is an indication of its well-controlled self-noise. These figures mean that at normal gain levels, the microphone doesn’t introduce any noticeable background hiss into the signal, which is particularly noticeable during pauses between phrases and during subsequent compression of the track.

The FIFINE AmpliTank Tank6’s frequency response is stated to be 100 Hz–18 kHz. This indicates the microphone’s clear focus on voice recording. The lower limit of 100 Hz cuts off sub-low frequencies that don’t carry useful information for speech but actively pick up vibrations from tables, stands, or cabinets. This reduces the burden on filtering during recording and produces a more composed signal right out of the box. The upper limit of 18 kHz completely covers the formant spectrum of the human voice and preserves sufficient high-frequency detail for intelligibility and “airiness,” without becoming excessively bright, which is often a problem with microphones with an extended high-frequency range when recording at close range.

A built-in damping system is included. It works in two directions: it reduces the transmission of mechanical shocks and mitigates the impact of plosives. If the device is accidentally touched, such as the table to which it is attached or the stand’s housing, vibrations are significantly reduced in the capsule, preventing low-frequency “booms” from dominating the signal. Similarly, the built-in damping and internal protection against plosives allow voice recording without the need for a bulky external pop filter.

Support for recording at a resolution of up to 192 kHz and a 24-bit depth is essentially beyond everyday requirements, but from a technical standpoint, it offers a certain amount of headroom. 24-bit depth provides an extended dynamic range and reduces the risk of clipping during unpredictable volume changes, such as during streams . A 192 kHz sampling rate is rarely used in real-world voice recording, but it demonstrates the quality of the built-in ADC and allows for reliable operation at standard 44.1 or 48 kHz without artifacts.

As usual, I provide a sample of the recording “clean,” meaning without any pre-filtering or post-processing. The overall result is pleasing, featuring a tight midrange, controlled lows, and a lack of excessively sharp highs. The FIFINE AmpliTank Tank6’s signal quality doesn’t require aggressive correction, which can potentially save time and reduce user experience requirements.

A nice, if not entirely essential, bonus is the presence of physical controls on the body. A separate microphone gain control allows you to precisely adjust the input signal level without having to delve into software mixers or system settings.

A headphoneoutput with monitoring in the 24 Hz–20 kHz range provides full-frequency signal control without artificial limiting. A separate headphone volume knob allows manual monitoring control.

The USB interface doesn’t require an external sound card ; the microphone is ready to use immediately after connecting to the computer. The built-in digital signal path with an ADC ensures stable results without any additional configuration. The XLR connection, in turn, opens the possibility of integrating the microphone into more complex studio setups using external preamps, audio interfaces, and hardware processing. A corresponding cable is not included, but one is easily purchased if needed.

The FIFINE BM88 stand was designed from the ground up as a universal solution for desktop microphone setups , and this is clearly evident in the mounting hardware. Support for three thread standards effectively eliminates compatibility issues with most microphones and shockmounts available on the market. These sizes accommodate both compact USB models and full-size XLR microphones designed for studio use. The stand correctly holds the microphone without distortion or placing unnecessary stress on the hinges, while adhering to reasonable weight limits typical of desktop microphone stands of this class.

The desk mount is designed to accommodate varying work surface thicknesses. The clamping range, from 20mm to 60mm, allows for mounting on both thin office desks and heavy gaming or work surfaces.

Built-in channels for USB or XLR cable routing allow you to tuck cables inside the stand’s structure, maintaining a neat workspace. Running the cable along the stand’s structure prevents it from snagging on tabletop elements, from being pulled when moving the microphone, and from creating additional mechanical noise.

In terms of mechanical adjustments, the FIFINE BM88 offers a wide range of angular adjustments. The stand allows for 360-degree horizontal rotation, allowing you to move the microphone sideways, face it toward you, or completely clear the workspace. A vertical rotation range of up to 200 degrees provides flexible adjustment of the height and tilt relative to the user’s mouth. An additional 180-degree rotation on the upper hinge joint expands positioning versatility and simplifies precise adjustment to a specific desk posture.

The stand’s arms measure approximately 33 cm for the main section and approximately 29.5 cm for the second section. These provide a working radius sufficient for most desktop scenarios. The microphone can be positioned outside the monitor area and quickly returned to its working position if needed.

Conclusion

Overall, the FIFINE AmpliTank Tank6 leaves the impression of a carefully tuned dynamic microphone, designed specifically for voice applications. Its frequency response, self-noise level, built-in damping, and physical controls combine to create a clear and controllable tool for speech recording. Support for both USB and XLR connections expands its use cases, allowing it to fit into both a simple home setup and a more complex studio setup. Its sound character doesn’t require aggressive correction, making it well-suited for those who prefer minimal processing.

The FIFINE BM88 microphone stand, in turn, serves as a standalone workstation element, addressing ergonomic and space management needs. Its wide thread compatibility, robust adjustment range, reliable table clamp, and well-thought-out cable routing make it convenient for everyday use with a variety of microphones, including the aforementioned FIFINE AmpliTank Tank6. Both components are designed with functionality, convenience, and reliable operation in real-world conditions in mind, and there’s virtually nothing to complain about, given their price point. The only downside is that the XLR port can’t power the microphone, so if you use it, you’ll still need a USB cable.
