In the world of Hytale, certain valuable resources require players to be brave and willing to fight in the dark of night. One such trophy is the Voidheart, a rare item that radiates void magic. It is necessary for crafting powerful weapons and upgrading the forge table for crafting mithril equipment.
Voidhearts drop from Void creatures that awaken only at nightfall. These creatures include the flying tentacle-like blobs known as Void Eyes, the ghostly skeletal Spectres, the large sword-wielding Voidspawn warriors, and the ground-dwelling beetles. They are easily identified in the dark by their glowing eyes.
Void Eyes are considered the most effective for farming Voidhearts. They have the highest chance of dropping the coveted loot, plus they always drop Void Essence. Other enemy types can also drop a heart, but the chances are lower.
Best place to farm Voidhearts
Head to the flat, icy biomes of zone 3. These are snowy, open spaces where Void Eyes spawn in large numbers. For variety, try the Everglade swamps, desert dunes, or volcanic islands in zones 5-6—at night, Void creatures spawn everywhere, but the icy plains are the most likely to spawn Eyes.
Open the map, find the bluish-white areas, get there, and wait for nightfall. Make sure you’re well-equipped: wear iron armor, take a strong weapon, a supply of healing food, torches, and a bow. At night, run around the area, track the glowing eyes, and quickly eliminate groups of enemies, checking every drop. Due to the item’s epic rarity, it can take 20 to 50 kills to obtain one heart.
To speed up the process, you can team up with friends or build a night farming base in Zone 3. If you don’t manage to collect the required amount overnight, simply wait until the next day and try again.
What are Voidhearts for?
Voidhearts are used to upgrade the Armorerob to levels 2 and 3. At least three hearts are required for the upgrade. The upgraded workbench allows you to craft adamantite armor and mithril weapons. For example, to craft a mithril sword, you’ll need:

- Thunder Leather Scraps x3
- Voidheart x1
