Bloody R73 Ultra Gaming Mouse

The Bloody R73 Ultra is packaged in a book-shaped cardboard box, which depicts the model, its main features and technical specifications.

Inside you’ll find the mouse, a USB dongle and adapter, a USB-A to USB-C adapter, a fabric-wrapped USB-A to USB-C cable, spare glides, a set of custom-made grips, and a detailed user manual in Russian.

The Bloody R73 Ultra Duo comes in white with an image of the character Nyx Mirage, while the Bloody R73 Ultra features a completely red body with Pyro Blaze printed on the back – in the Savage Impact mythology, this character carries unbridled flames, representing a symbol of destruction and renewal.

The mouse features an asymmetrical frame, designed for right-handed users. Its large, tall design encourages a palm grip. The thumb rests on the left side, the index and middle fingers are positioned in small indentations in the left and right buttons, the ring finger rests on the right side, and the little finger glides along the mouse pad or gaming table .

The device is equipped with seven keys: the main left and right keys, two additional keys on the left side, a key in the scroll wheel, and two keys immediately behind the wheel. The scroll wheel has a rubberized insert with fine notches, and it rotates with noticeable tactile feedback.

The base contains five Teflon feet, an optical sensor, a power switch, and a compartment for a USB dongle. The USB port for wired connection and charging is located at the front, reinforced with a plastic edge.

The Bloody R73 Ultra mouse proved comfortable: it fits well in the hand and weighs an average 72 grams. The plastic is smooth, but not too smooth, with a rough texture that prevents slippage. Those with smaller hands may find the model a bit bulky, but otherwise, the appearance and ergonomics are beyond reproach.

Connection and setup

The new product does not support Bluetooth pairing; it only supports wired and 2.4 GHz wireless connections. Proprietary WaveLink technology ensures a stable, interference-free wireless connection.

To configure the device, you need to download the proprietary software from the official website.

The app has five tabs. Settings are limited: you can assign keys, set DPI values (from 50 to 20,000), record macros, update the mouse and receiver firmware, and select system options such as movement speed and double-click speed.

In fact, you can do without software altogether, unless you need to set non-standard DPI values. The mouse is completely ready to use out of the box, which is undoubtedly one of its advantages.

Impressions of use

The Bloody R73 Ultra mouse is based on the Alpha 20K gaming sensor. By default, DPI settings range from 400 to 2000, but can be adjusted up to 20,000 in the software. The port polling rate ranges from 125 to 1000 Hz, the tracking speed is 350 ips, and the acceleration is 40 g.

The sensor is excellent – responsive, powerful, and operates smoothly. I experienced no performance hiccups while playing online shooters – in this regard, the Alpha 20K is no different from the popular PAW 3395 and PAW 3950 sensors.

The switches have noticeable tactile feedback and are slightly noisy, but reliable. They have a lifespan of an impressive 30 million clicks—of course, there are longer-lasting microswitches, but this lifespan is enough to last the mouse for several years.

The 300 mAh battery provides approximately 75 hours of battery life. Considering the mouse has no backlighting and a polling rate of no more than 1000 Hz, you can expect a week or two of use without recharging. It takes about 1.5 hours to recharge the battery.

Conclusion

Bloody R73 Ultra Gaming Mouse

The Bloody R73 Ultra is a beautiful and powerful gaming mouse. It differs from its “big sister” by its lack of a charging dock and its color scheme, but otherwise, the devices are identical.

Among the drawbacks are its noticeable size and rather hefty weight. The mouse is suitable for a palm grip, but those with smaller hands may find its size a bit uncomfortable.

In our opinion, this is a very good option for gaming and work, but the final decision is in any case up to you.

Pros
  • Convenient body shape
  • Flexible customization
  • Productive filling
  • Good battery life
Cons
  • Quite large and heavy
