If you’re one of those people who, even after the release of several new games in the series, still finds yourself yearning to return to good old Pandora to continue the hunt for treasure on the desert planet, you can always do so in Borderlands 2. But first, it makes sense to find your saves folder to load your old save (or someone else’s).
Owners of the official Steam version of the game can find Borderlands 2 saves in one of two ways:
Local saves:
- C:/Users/[Username]/Documents/My Games/Borderlands 2/WillowGame/SaveData/[ Your Steam ID ]
Cloud saves:
- C:/Program Files (x86)/Steam/userdata/[ Your Steam ID ]/49520/
If after all these years you still haven’t gotten around to purchasing a licensed copy of the game, your saves folder may have a different name. Here’s an example based on one of the most popular pirated downloads:
- C:/Users/[Username]/Documents/My Games/Borderlands 2/WillowGame/SaveData/76561197960267366/
For users of other operating systems, the path will be:
Linux:
- ~/.local/share/aspyr-media/borderlands 2/willowgame/savedata/
macOS (OS X):
- ~/Library/Application Support/Borderlands 2/WillowGame/SaveData/
