Tiny Bunny Guide: How to Get the "Genius and Darkness" Ending

“Genius and Darkness” is one of 20 endings available at the time of the release of the fifth and final episode of the visual novel “Bunny.” A few days after the release, the authors confirmed they would be reworking the final chapter due to numerous complaints from the gaming community, so this article may become irrelevant in the future.

General information about the final

The “Genius and Darkness” ending in Tiny Bunny is only available to those who follow Alice’s route from the start . You can’t switch to Polina’s route, much less the Bunny’s. You must have all the clues, which means you’ll need to get a camera. This can only be achieved if you choose Alice at the first opportunity and don’t switch to Polina’s route.

In addition, you must:

  • Remove Senior Lieutenant Tikhonov’s number from the refrigerator.
  • Collect all 4 clues: a mitten, a videotape with a report about the Master of the Forest, Semyon Baburin’s ring, and Katya’s scythe (you need a camera, which you can exchange for an insert by winning a game of rock-paper-scissors).
  • We need to create a correct composite sketch of a killer with a cleft lip.
  • You’ll have to kill Zhulka to pay off the monsters and escape into the forest.
  • It is essential to let the guests in, otherwise we won’t be able to survive.

Below is a detailed guide on how to get the “Genius and Darkness” ending in the game “Bunny.”

Description of the ending

When discussing contemporary Russian painting, it’s impossible not to mention its flagship, the most sought-after Russian artist, Anton Petrov. Last year, his painting “Wolf on the Cross” sold for three million dollars at Sotheby’s, an absolute record for a living Russian artist. The painting is executed in the artist’s signature dark, expressive style. He utilizes his favorite motif of an upside-down figure, disintegrating into fragments of a human face, behind which animal features emerge. The animal faces, subtle and elusive, are painted in a stunning baroque style. The image of Petrov, a recluse living in the taiga, is also appealing to Western art lovers. The artist rarely gives interviews and refuses to elaborate on the subjects of his paintings. “Wolf on the Cross” was acquired for his personal collection by an unnamed connoisseur of Russian Expressionism.

How to get the “Genius and Darkness” ending – important choices in episode 1

The beginning of the first episode requires careful interactions with Anton’s house. When the police arrive and inform you of Vova’s disappearance, you’ll be able to move freely between the kitchen, hallway, and yard. First, pop into the kitchen and talk to Anton’s mother. It’s crucial that Anton convince her that the TV is broken again. Once her mother leaves the room, click on the side of the refrigerator: you’ll receive Senior Lieutenant Tikhonov’s number, which Anton gave you during his previous visit.

Anton then goes into the forest and finds a child’s mitten, which he absolutely must pick up—it belongs to the missing Vova and will become the first key piece of evidence.

Later, when you return home and decide to spend the evening with your sister Olya, pay attention to the television. Instead of searching for video tapes in the cabinet, select the “Configure” option. This will allow you to watch a strange report about the Master of the Forest and save it to videotape—the next key piece of evidence for the investigation.

On his way to school , Anton will encounter a girl in a fox mask , whom he nicknames Alice. She will offer him some candy—accept and take it. Inside one of the candies will be an insert with a picture of a Mercedes-Benz. This item will later intrigue Roma and prove key to obtaining an important tool.

Before entering the school, notice the man under the tree on the left. Click on him—this will create a composite sketch that will later help the police catch the killer Harelip and keep the heroes safe.

In the school hallway, Anton is attacked by Semyon Baburin. Be sure to fight back, otherwise the “Bunny/Lonely” storyline will be unavailable.

After the confrontation with Semyon, select Alice by clicking the window on the right to jump out into the backyard. Before examining the graffiti on the wall, click on the stranger hiding around the corner—this will give you a second look.

On his way back with Alisa, Anton will encounter Semyon and his gang. Don’t wear a mask: this way, the hero will not only attack the opponents but also win the fight, earning the respect of Romka and Byasha.

And finally, when you’re walking with Romka and Byasha to the garage in the forest, be sure to click on the stranger a third time. He’ll be behind the trees behind the tractor. The events of Episode Two no longer affect the plot.

How to get the “Genius and Darkness” ending – important choices in episode 3

The first critical action of the third episode concerns the missing Semyon Baburin’s ring. It’s in the file belonging to police officer Tikhonov. When he appears in class during a lesson, wait until he turns his back to the students and isn’t watching the audience. Only then can you open the file. Keep in mind that Anton won’t be able to search the entire file in one go, so you’ll have to repeat the steps to find the clue you need.

The next step is to create a composite sketch of the Harelip killer. Select the “Tell” option to begin the process, and proceed with extreme care. To succeed, you must assemble the correct image: a short, almost bald haircut, furrowed brows, a torn lip, a wrinkled forehead, a nose with a bandage on the bridge, and expressive eyes. If everything is done correctly, you will earn the “Van Gogh” achievement, and Tikhonov will praise Anton.

After class, Romka will try to take a Polaroid from another student in the hallway. If you took candy from Alice beforehand, challenge him to a bet. Win the game of rock-paper-scissors, and you’ll get the Polaroid. This item will prove extremely useful in Episode 4.

That evening, Polina will call Anton at home. It’s important not to give in to the provocation: choose the Voltron drawing to remain in Romka’s route. Any switch to Polina’s route at this point will result in Bad Ending #1, “Schoolboy Killer,” in the next episode.

How to get the “Genius and Darkness” ending – important choices in episode 4

After school, Romka will suggest looking for the missing Katya. Don’t forget to bring Byasha with you—only with him will you be able to find the problematic garage.

Once you reach the garage, don’t go to the police station; instead, explore it yourself. Once you’ve managed to talk to Roma and find Katya, save your game and repeatedly press the “Save” button. Continue doing this even after the cutscene. Despite your best efforts, you won’t be able to save Katya completely, but this approach will allow Anton to retrieve the Polaroid. Move the camera to the meat grinder where Katya’s scythe is located and take a photo of it—this will become your fourth piece of evidence.

At the end of the episode, the characters will find themselves in Father Frost’s lair with children wearing animal masks. When they start enjoying the treats and Olya wants to join in, refuse. Later, you’ll reveal their true identities and learn that Father Frost is the Master of the Forest himself. Alice will offer jelly snakes—refuse those too. This refusal is mandatory for the correct plot line to be maintained: otherwise, Anton will forever be trapped on the Bunny/Lonely Man path.

How to get the “Genius and Darkness” ending – important choices in episode 5

Immediately after the episode begins, you’ll stumble across an axe and encounter the dog Zhulka. You’ll have to eliminate her—this is the only way to temporarily appease the hungry beasts. It turns out that Zhulka isn’t an ordinary dog at all, but something resembling an anthropomorphic insect .

The choice of who to go to—Polina or Katya—isn’t crucial. The important thing is that you can earn 4-5 different achievements along both paths. However, to get the good ending, it’s crucial that Anton refuses to take the pills after meeting Olya.

The next key moment occurs automatically: Anton returns home and decides to call Tikhonov. The success of this conversation depends on collecting all the evidence. Your arsenal should include: Vova’s mitten and the videotape from the first episode, Semyon Baburin’s ring from the third episode, and the photograph of Katya’s braid from the fourth episode (taken with the Polaroid from the third episode). If Tikhonov believes your words about the Master of the Forest, you’re on the right track.

Next, let the guests in—Polina and Romka. Note that if you follow Polina’s route, Romka won’t appear, and you won’t be able to collect all the clues needed for the good ending.

When the animals demand food, toss them the dog meat left in the freezer by Zhulka. After this, the heroes will begin to escape through the forest, and a new choice will arise: Romka will always save Polina, while you must take care of your sister Olya. If you act correctly, all four will be able to continue their journey.

Don’t wear a mask in the police UAZ with Olya – then the distraught mother won’t kill her children.

When the Master of the Forest offers to put on his mask, refuse and break it. This step will completely neutralize the Master of the Forest.

Finally, the final choice determines which of the two happy endings you’ll receive. Hugging Polina in the car unlocks the “Genius and Darkness” ending.

Olya remains safe, and Anton displays his artistic talents. Together with Polina, they deal with the Devourers, including Byasha, and then forget all about these terrible events.
