And against this backdrop, the “Verso Sketches” location emerges—a place of pure, undiluted whimsy. Dazzlingly bright, filled with enemies that look like they could only have been designed by someone with a huge addiction to candy and other sweets. And there’s also a huge number of Gestrals eager to play various games with you. One of them is standing on a wooden swing.
If you’ve spent any time in Verso Sketches, you’ve likely encountered the diving board with its incredibly difficult red life preserver challenge. If you’re tired of trying to complete this challenge over and over again, there’s a much more relaxing minigame nearby.
From the pool where the rings are, simply head a little further south, descending another hill into the lower pool of the Zhestral Baths. Here, you’ll see a number of Zhestrals enjoying themselves, including a toddler on a seesaw. Talk to him, and he’ll happily invite you to join a fun and energetic minigame.
Once you agree to play with this little gestal, you’ll find yourself drawn into a battle. Unlike most similar “combat” minigames, there’s no parrying involved. After all, it’s unlikely to make the swing swing. Once the battle begins, the gestal will leap into the air, followed by a symbol indicating you need to jump to avoid the attack. Jumping in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is usually quite forgiving of dodging errors, but this challenge requires much more precision. Rather, you simply need to know when to jump.
Treat the jump almost the same as a parry. Instead of jumping just as the Gestral rises and the corresponding icon appears, you need to jump right before it lands. This way, you’ll land on the swing just as it’s at its highest point, push it down, and send your little Gestral partner flying back into the air. Repeat this three times in a row.
Upon success, the Gestral will thank you for playing and present you with a reward—a brand new pictos, “Powered Jumps,” which increases counterattack damage by 100% for each successful jump during the current turn.
