During the fifth chapter of Hail to the Rainbow, you’ll find yourself in another dream based on Ignat’s memory. The boy relives events from his past, but the flashbacks, due to nightmares, are terrifying and violent. This time, waking up in his room, he must figure out the password to the front door to investigate the source of the noise, then find the House Manager’s key and return to the apartment, all while being pursued by the Seamstress Mechanic (his former neighbor).
Once in your room, exit into the common hallway and head toward the dining area. There’s a note waiting for you on the dining table—examine it. The contents make it clear: the code to the locked door is encrypted in Ignat’s final math problem.
To determine the correct combination, you’ll have to return to the bedroom. Go to the desk next to the computer and examine the piece of paper lying there. It contains various symbols, each associated with a specific numerical value. Your task is to sequentially substitute the numbers into simple equations until all the calculations match. Once deciphered, you’ll discover that blue triangles represent the number four, white zeros correspond to two, and red elements equal one. The final combination is formed strictly according to the order of the symbols listed at the bottom of the paper—the code is 421. Head to the door, enter this sequence into the control panel on the left, and exit into the hallway.

Extraneous sounds are coming from below, so go down the stairs one level. At the base of the landing, on the left, you’ll notice a slightly open door—that’s where the old woman was taken out earlier. Once inside the neighbor’s apartment, turn right and examine the windowsill: there’s an e-book there . It reveals shocking information: the neighbor’s consciousness has been transferred into the Seamstress’s mechanical body. Once you finish reading, continue toward the source of the noise. As soon as you get closer, a new cutscene will automatically start.
After the cutscene ends, a tense, stealthy sequence begins. The Seamstress (a distraught neighbor in a robot body ) patrols the hallways, and any sighting of her results in instant death if she manages to catch Ignat. The only reliable way to hide is in the closets. However, it’s important to remember: if she notices you taking cover, she can force you back out. Therefore, move stealthily, carefully monitoring her movements. Your goal is to reach the Building Manager’s office, located on the very bottom level, and retrieve a metal key. This key opens the gate between the third and fourth floors. Once you reach the bottom floor, turn left down the corridor and look for an open door at the very end. Once inside the office, you’ll find a desk in the far corner with the key you need on it.

Once you’ve obtained the key, begin your return climb up the same flights of stairs you used to descend. Whenever a patrol approaches, hide in the closets. Once you reach the grate between the third and fourth floors, use the key to open the passage. Then, continue up and turn left. You’ll see a familiar symbol on the door of the apartment you’re looking for. As soon as you get close, an automatic scene will trigger, and Ignat will escape his pursuer. However, the dream doesn’t end there.
Returning to the apartment, approach the peephole and peer through it three times in a row. In fact, you’re looking at a monitor , not a regular peephole . To complete the task correctly, hold down the E key to exit peep mode, then reactivate the screen. After the third viewing, you’ll earn the “Curious” achievement, awarded for spotting the neighbor in a frightening flashback. Next, head to your parents’ open bedroom—it’s located across from Ignat’s room. Upon entering, you’ll hear your mother’s voice coming from the apartment’s front door. Open it and notice the tape recorder sitting on a chair on the right side of the hallway. Turn off the device by pressing the E key, then look towards your apartment again to reveal the seamstress. The nightmare will end.
