In Hytale, you can gather and craft a variety of materials, and the processes are generally fairly straightforward. However, players may have questions about glass. Indeed, Hytale’s approach to this material differs somewhat from games like Minecraft and Terraria, and this guide aims to clarify that.

How to make glass in Hytale
Glass bottles
Currently, you can craft glass bottles (Empty Potion Bottles), but you can’t craft simple glass blocks or panels. To craft glass bottles, follow these steps. They can be used as decorations or for alchemy after crafting an Alchemy Workbench:
- Build a Furnace . It can be crafted on a standard Workbench, which is created through the Pocket Crafting menu (Tab). The furnace requires six wood logs and six stones.
- Place fuel in the appropriate slot in the furnace. Sticks, tree trunks, plant fiber, or coal will work.
- Place any sand block into one of the furnace’s input slots. Click the “Turn On” button below the fuel slot to begin smelting.
Sand blocks are mined with a pickaxe from sand in desert biomes , which are marked as large yellow areas on the map. Note: the yellow marks along rivers in other biomes indicate sandstone, not sand.
How to make windows in Hytale
Construction workbench
Although there’s no simple transparent block in the game, it’s still possible to create windows. To do so, place any type of log in the Workbench and select window from the options that appear. The Workbench is crafted through the Pocket Crafting menu (press Tab, then the hammer to the right of the character portrait). It requires four tree trunks and three stones.
You can craft several types of windows at the Workbench. Experiment with different types of logs, such as oak or birch, to find the best option for your Hytale builds.
